Piero della Francesca was a mathematician as well as painter.
A study of the ways his science is imbedded in his art might begin at these sites:

The Alethia Foundation rejects the popular notion that we have entered the "post-Christian" era.

The Alethia Foundation rejects the choice, often put to Christians in the spirit of "scientism": either mutate the faith, or abandon it.  Neither does The Alethia Foundation concede Christianity to the imperialists within it, of ancient or present day.

The Alethia Foundation is dedicated to
the recovery of faith by a  return to its roots,

  •  to its core doctrines
  •  to its moral requirements of humility, love, spiritual and intellectual   maturation
  •  to its call to service, sacrifice, fidelity and empowerment, replacing domination, egocentrism, gamesmanship and exploitation.

and by integration of new bodies of knowledge with Christian ideals.

Doctrinally,

The Alethia Foundation takes a traditional stance. It is spiritually and philosophically centered in the biblical theology of the great ecumenical creeds of the 4th century; in the practical piety of worship, study and sacrificial service; in seeking the mind of Christ communally through study of scripture and confessionally within the corporate, sacramental life of the church; and through regimens of personal meditation and prayer.

Politically and Socially,

The Alethia Foundation platform is considered progressive. It finds in the sovereignty of Jesus Christ governing values of empowerment, peace, justice, stewardship, compassion, tolerance, critical thinking, creativity, faith, hope and love. Most important for our time, we believe the gospel delivers the good news that in the person and work of Jesus Christ, in the call to the Kingdom of God, is a transfiguration of our understanding of power

Nothing is more radical than the gospel.

The Alethia Foundation believes that in the Christian faith are the spiritual as well as conceptual tools through which:

  •  new knowledge can be integrated into a unified yet limber worldview,
  •  that is orderly and rational without being either rigid or closed,
  •  and which can counter intellectual disdain for Christianity on one hand, and right wing perversions of it on the other.
